Planning
Should you have any questions, please read through the information below. You'll likely find what you're looking for. If your questions are not addressed, feel free to contact us. We would be happy to answer any questions you have.
What do the players require to perform?
The group will need one chair for each player. The chairs must be normal dining height with no arms. A clear area 10 by 10 feet is required for a quartet. If the performance location is dark, electric power will be required. The players will provide their own courtesy lights.
Can the group play outdoors?
Yes, with provisions. The primary concerns are in regard to the instruments. If the weather outside is pleasant enough to sit down for dinner (imagine your favourite restaurant patio) the temperature will be fine. Direct sunlight requires shade, lawn sprinklers require an off switch and precipitation requires a building.
How will the players dress for the event?
The ensemble will wear formal black, unless otherwise arranged.
How is the music selected? Do I have to select the entire program?
It is not necessary for you to choose all the music, unless you want to. Some people have very good ideas in regard to what music to choose, others leave it to us. We have good ideas too.
How far in advance should we book your group?
We encourage you to book as early as is possible. However, don’t hesitate to call on short notice. We have been able to accommodate even last minute bookings.
Do we need to meet in person?
It is not necessary to meet in person. All details can be addressed over the phone or via e-mail. Should there be any questions, you will receive an immediate call from us. If you would prefer to meet in person, we would be happy to do that too.
Will you be attending the wedding rehearsal?
No, this is not necessary. We are quite familiar with coordinating on the day of the event and if we have any questions, you'll be sure to get a call.
Can I request a specific piece of music?
Yes, of course. If it is not in our repertoire, we may be able to locate the sheet music. If none is available, we might be able write an arrangement. Additional costs may apply.
Will amplification be necessary?
If more than 80 people are attending, amplification may be required. This will need to be discussed in advance. Additional costs may apply.
Are there any other costs I should know about?
Holiday Rates
If your event falls on a holiday, an extra charge of $50 per musician will apply. The holidays in question are: New Years Eve, Valentine's Day, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.
Travel Rates
If your event is in Sedona, Flagstaff, Tucson or elsewhere, we can be there. A charge of $0.50 per mile per musician applies for the round-trip 'Mapquest' distance from 603 North 5th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ. This applies to in-state locations beyond the Phoenix metro area, and covers the player's travel time and vehicle milage. If plane tickets and hotels are required, prior arrangements are necessary.
Please Note
All rates are subject to change. Special requests may incur additional costs. Any deposits paid are subtracted from the balance due. The hair on the instrument bows comes from a horse with a short tail. We love chocolate and it makes us very happy.
